Panda Security for Exchange Servers
|
Panda Security for Exchange Servers offers maximum protection for Exchange Servers with thorough content
filtering, high availability for corporate networks, seamless integration with all versions of
exchange
|
The Panda Security for Exchange Servers antivirus protection scans all inbound and outbound corporate e-mail
traffic. Attached files are scanned in-memory, suspicious files are detected using heuristic scans,
corporate policies are applied by filtering inappropriate content and spam is blocked before it
reaches the recipient's mailbox.
All of this is managed through AdminSecure, Panda's centralized administration tool.
Panda Security for Exchange Servers offers maximum performance and more complete functionality for Microsoft
groupware servers, as it exceeds the add-ons integration level using MAPI in Microsoft Exchange
Server 5.5, VSAPI 2.0 in Exchange Server 2000 and VSAPI 2.5 in Exchange Server 2003 installations.
Key features
-
Seamless integration in Exchange environments, it is also fully cluster-aware.
- Anti-spam protection for all versions of Exchange, keeping junk mail from saturating
inboxes.
- Thorough content filtering for preventative blocking of viruses and spam,
in both inbound and outbound e-mail.
- Centralized, remote administration in LANs and WANs.
- Optimized in-memory scanning and disinfection of viruses in all protocols
and folders.
- High scalability and availability for large enterprise environments.
Seamless integration in Exchange environments
Panda Security for Exchange Servers is fully cluster-aware, guaranteeing the investment made if the organization
expands or if there are demanding performance and reliability requirements.
Thanks to the use of Virus Scanning API 2.0 and 2.5 technology and integration in the anti-spam
infrastucture of Exchange Server 2003 (which a valuecan be assigned to messages entering the
Server-called Spam Confidence Level (SCL)- to determinethe probability that it is spam).
Panda Security for Exchange Servers integrates seamlessly with all versions of the Exchange platform.
Fully automatic daily updates
Panda Security for Exchange Servers updates itself automatically and transparently at least once a day, without
administrator intervention. These updates are carried out incrementally, only downloading
protection against spam and the viruses that have appeared since the last update.
Efficient anti-spam protection
The anti-spam module identifies, blocks and destroys junk mail before it reaches mailboxes.
With more than 300,000 anti-spam algorithms and multi-functional techniques: rules, heuristic,
bayesian, lists and remote training, this new engine provides a reliable and effective way
of dealing with spam, even when it tries to sneak in through mails nested inside other mails,
(NDR spam). It is also possible to define white lists and blacklists of mails and domains to filter.
Mail scanned by Panda Security for Exchange Servers is classified as a spam or possible spam and can be treated
separately, according to the administrator's settings.
An additional feature, through the content filtering module, is the possibility to set a maximum
number of recipients in order to prevent massive attacks.
Exhaustive content-filter
Panda has included a powerful content filter which in addition to filtering names, subjects,
extensions or file size also monitors a wide range of additional variables to offer greater
effectiveness and versatility.
As a result, Panda Security for Exchange Servers blocks all types of threats, without saturating server communications,
offering the option, for example, to filter message body content such as HTML tags with external
references, ActiveX controls, encrypted messages and even block malformed messages or create a
black list of files to filter.
Remote, centralized administration
Panda Security for Exchange Servers is managed remotely and centrally through a single interface: Panda AdminSecure.
Through this tool, all the Panda antivirus solutions across the network can be installed,
updated and monitored, and its real-time views, reports, warnings, etc., allow
administrators to monitor the status of the antivirus protection in every computer
connected to the network.
This is a major difference from other antiviruses, which can only be managed remotely one
by one or products that depend on the console of the server to be protected, in this case MMC,
and therefore cannot effectively manage all their antiviruses when they are deployed to
heterogeneous platforms.
Optimized performance through in-memory scanning
Panda Security's VirtualFile technology scans all files in memory (even compressed files)
much faster than other antiviruses, which copy them completely to hard disk. Panda Security for Exchange Servers
scans and disinfects viruses from all mail storage areas such as public and private folders,
and monitors messages in MAPI, POP3, and IMAP protocols as well as the Internet Mail Connector
(the SMTP stack).
High scalability and availability
Panda AdminSecure lets network administrators can use multiple server profiles for remote
management and updating of Exchange Servers via WAN connections. Its UltraFast scan engine
offers maximum performance and has been optimized to provide non-stop antivirus protection for
all corporate mail traffic.
AdminSecure includes a complete and customizable system of infection notifications and
filter alerts, along with event logs that can be used for consultation and statistical
analysis along with the rest of the company's security information.
